Meet Chris

Chris is the hands - and the standards behind Northern Rivers Blade Sharpening.

With over 30 years in the building and carpentry trade, Chris spent decades relying on sharp tools to earn a living. On building sites, in workshops, and on detailed finish work he learned early that sharp blades aren’t about perfectionism - they’re about safety, accuracy, efficiency,
and pride in the job.

Like many tradespeople, Chris sharpened his own tools out of necessity. There was no room for blunt edges, rushed grinds, or shortcuts. A poorly sharpened blade wastes time, damages materials, and increases the risk of injury. A good edge, on the other hand, makes work flow. That understanding never left.

When the opportunity arose to diversify Ataraxis Farms, sharpening made sense. It was a practical extension of skills already honed over decades - and a way to build a resilient, local service that supports the Northern Rivers community.

Today, Chris brings the same trade mindset to every blade that comes across the bench:

  • Assess the tool properly
  • Choose the right angle for its purpose
  • Restore performance without removing unnecessary steel
  • Deliver an edge that lasts.

There’s no production-line sharpening here. Every tool is treated as if it were Chris’s own - because he knows exactly what it’s like to rely on it for real work.

When you hand over your blades, you’re not just getting them sharpened, you’re tapping into decades of hands-on experience, practical knowledge, and respect for good tools.
